A workshop with the Croatian stakeholders in the project In cultura veritas conducted in the town of Jastrebarsko
Within the work package T1 - Development of the new tourism destination, the first workshop with the Croatian stakeholders in the project In cultura veritas, was held.
On Thursday, 28 March 2019, a consultative workshop with the Croatian stakeholders in the project In cultura veritas, was organised and held in the Jastrebarsko Town Museum. The workshop was organised by the project partners Zagreb County (ZŽ) and Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA).
The workshop was attended by around 30 key stakeholders from the towns of Jastrebarsko and Samobor. Discussion, among invited wine producers, local decision makers, tour guides, representatives of tourism boards, proffessional associations and others, was facilitated by Romana Lekić, PhD, an expert for destination management. The stakeholders pointed out opportunities and possibilities for tourism offer improvements within the new cross border tourism destination expected to be set up as one of the key project outcomes. Considering that wine and culture are in the focus of the project, presented ideas revolved around tourism connection between the Plešivica and Samobor wine roads and stronger inclusion of valuable and important local cultural heritage resources. Discussion was concluded by highlighting importance of sustainable development of the new tourism destination, preservation and conservation of the local identity features, improvement of existing and development of new tourism services and products attractive for a variety of tourists and visitors.
Conclusions of this and other workshops will be used by the project partners for drafting of the Plan for establishing new tourism destination as a guide for tourism development and promotion of the new cross border tourism destination.
